Across Asia there are new store openings, including market debuts:
Tim Hortons
The Restaurant Brands International coffee chain have debuted in Singapore. Located at the VivoCity shopping centre, the new store is the first of 10 planned to be opened by the end of next year.
The store is operated by Marubeni Growth Capital Asia. They are the newest Tim Hortons franchisee and they have also, last week, acquired a stake in AIG Asia Ingredients Corporation, a food ingredients and packaged food producer, based in Vietnam.
The Singapore market entrance takes Tim Hortons to 3 countries in Southeast Asia – following the Philippines and Thailand. There are over 5,700 stores internationally, with over two-thirds of the stores in Canada, with another 13% in China.
Tim Hortons China have previously shared ambitions of 1,000 stores by year end. There was also a franchise agreement signed for Tim Hortons in South Korea, in Q2 of 2023.
Cotti Coffee
Chinese coffee brand, Cotti Coffee, have expanded into Hong Kong. Founded in October 2022, the brand already has 6,200 stores in China, with market entries into Canada, Indonesia, Japan and South Korea.
The new store is located at the Sheung Wan Mass Transit Railway station.
Previous Chinese F&B News, shared in Q3 2023, included Luckin Coffee, a key competitor of Cotti Coffee.
TGI Fridays
TGI Fridays have opened their 18th store in Taiwan. The Chubei restaurant opening follows their previous opening in Yulong City Mall.
The franchisee for TGI Fridays in Taiwan is Casual Restaurants Inc.. Casual Restaurants Inc. focuses on western casual dining now operate brands across Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. In addition to TGI, the operator manages: Texas Roadhouse, Dan Ryan’s Chicago Grill, Amaroni’s New York Italian and LillA.
