KFC UK&I set to buy over 200 restaurants from franchisee EG Group

KFC UK&I have announced that 218 stores, operated by existing franchisee EG Group, will be acquired by the franchisor.

EG Group are the largest KFC Franchisee in the UK and Ireland. The transfer of ownership is set to complete in 2024 H1.

Over 50 of 218 stores acquired, were previously owned by Amsric Group – EG Group acquired these stores back in 2021.

The KFC brand is owned by Yum! Brands, who are also the parent company of Taco Bell and Pizza Hut.

There are over 1,000 KFC sites in the UK, with 50 of these currently managed and operated by the KFC UK&I. This acquisition will therefore mean that over 1/4 of KFCs in the UK will be company-owned.

Last year, KFC UK&I saw sales grow by over 25% year-on-year (year ending 26 December 2021) – revenue for 2021 hit £292,915,000.
