Dubai-headquartered quick service chicken brand ChicKing is set to open six UK restaurants over the next six weeks as it accelerates its expansion across Britain. The rollout has already begun with the opening of a new restaurant in Clarkston, marking the brand’s third location in Scotland alongside existing sites in Livingston and Aberdeen.
The next opening is scheduled for 2 July, in Edinburgh’s Sighthill district at 12 Bankhead Road, followed by launches in Hamilton, East Ham, Liverpool and Stirling. Asaad Tariq, master franchisee of ChicKing UK operator Foodfixx, said the UK represents one of the brand’s most significant growth opportunities.
He said: “ChicKing was founded in Dubai in 2000 and today operates more than 475 restaurants across 45 countries. The UK is one of the most exciting chapters in our journey, driven by strong and growing demand for premium halal quick service restaurants.
“We’re not just opening restaurants – we’re building a network of passionate, community-focused franchise partners who are proud of what they serve and who they serve it to.
“Following our opening in Clarkston, we’re launching in Sighthill this weekend and then opening one new ChicKing every Saturday for the next six weeks. That’s six new restaurants, six new communities and six new ChicKing families.”
ChicKing made its UK debut in 2017 with openings in Acton and Marylebone, west London, and has since grown its estate to 24 locations nationwide.
