As the new year began, numerous companies have announced new financial results for the prior year. These include:
Giggling Restaurants: Operating company of The Giggling Squid and newly acquired Lime Squeezy saw over a 90% turnover increase in the year to 3 April 2022. This revenue (£65.88m) significantly outperforms prior year (£33.89m). This resulted in a pre-tax profit of over £5.3m, a 294.4% increase versus year ending April 2021. The company stated that it was the “most profitable period since inception”, despite Covid-19 restrictions impacting sales.
Tortilla Mexican Grill PLC: The business saw revenue increase to £57.7m, after the company shared their full year and Q4 2022 trading update. The brand saw a 16% growth in like-for-like revenue versus 2019. The addition of 18 new stores helped drive the revenue as a whole by 20%. The company announced the brand are optimistic for further growth with UK development, as well as growing franchise partnerships, further. The share price closed today 16.09% up.
KFC UK & Ireland: The brand saw sales grow by over 25% year-on-year (year ending 26 December 2021) – revenue for 2021 hit £292,915,000. The brand announced a factor for growth was the development and usage of delivery aggregators. The company saw a 99.96% increase in pre-Tax profits, but they highlight this is contributed to by the struggling prior year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
