Carl’s Jr open first restaurant in Switzerland

In November 2022 we shared news that Spycher Burger Gang AG and CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc. had partnered with the plan to introduce Carl’s Jr. into Switzerland.

The first Carl’s Jr. in Switzerland has now opened. Based in Schaffhausen, the new restaurant opened on 12th December 2023. The restaurant is located near the train station, which is close to a McDonald’s and Subway.

The operator is set to open 20 restaurants over the next 6 years. Carl’s Jr. are currently operating in Denmark, France, Spain and Turkey, and the Swiss expansion has plans to see sites across major cities, including Basel, Bern, and Zurich.

Carl’s Jr. was founded in 1941, in Los Angeles, USA. There are now over 1,000 international restaurants and 3,000 in the USA.

One of the leading European regions, for Carl’s Jr., is Spain, where the brand has over 40 restaurants. Operated by Avanza Food, the brand opened a new store back in September.

Carl’s Jr. are looking for franchise partners – learn more, here.
