Subway, the QSR brand from the USA, have agreed master franchise rights with Wissol Group, covering the country of Georgia. The agreement was announced at the start of November.
By signing the master franchise agreement, Wissol Group assume exclusive rights for growing the Subway brand across Georgia. They have plans to open 80 restaurants across the country.
When announcing the news of the new agreement, Wissol Group also shared news that they had opened their third Subway in the country, located in Tsiblisi. This restaurant is the first in Georgia’s capital, whilst previously opening and managing two stores in Batumi.
The restaurant operator is one of the largest business conglomerates in Georgia. The largest business unit for the company is Wissol Petroleum. Within the F&B sector, Wissol Group already operate Dunkin’ Donuts and Wendy’s, in Georgia.
In June, Subway signed a master franchise agreement with Shanghai Fu-Rui-Shi Corporate Development. This agreement was the largest in Subway’s history, with a development plan of 4,000 store openings over a 20 year period.
