Pret A Manger has officially launched its first drive-thru location, opening Tuesday 5 May in Warrington. The company highlighted roadside sites and travel hubs as a major area for future growth. The new outlet, developed in partnership with Motor Fuel Group, represents a trial of a new format as Pret continues to expand its footprint in transport-focused locations across the UK. At present, Pret operates 220 shops in airports, train stations, and motorway service areas nationwide, with 35 of those run alongside Motor Fuel Group.
Situated just off the M6 at junction 21, the drive-thru features a single lane for vehicles and a digital menu displaying Pret’s range of freshly prepared food, barista-made drinks, as well as cold beverages, snacks, and baked items. In addition to the drive-thru service, the site includes indoor seating for up to 48 customers, EV charging facilities, and on-site restrooms.
Ross Warnes, Pret A Manger president UK & Ireland, said: “Travel hubs and roadside locations present a huge growth opportunity for Pret, making the launch of our first drive-thru a natural next step in our expansion. It’s all part of our strategy of meeting customers where they are, while still delivering the same friendly, speedy service and freshly made food we’re known for. Our teams have worked incredibly hard to deliver this new Pret experience.”
Jack Tindall, head of foodservice operations at Motor Fuel Group said: “As Pret’s largest UK franchise partner, opening Pret’s first drive-thru is a major milestone for our partnership. We know how much the people of Warrington love great coffee, and we’re thrilled to bring Pret’s freshly made food and barista-made drinks to them. From freshly baked croissants to sandwiches, salads and organic coffee, this new shop offers everything customers love about Pret designed for modern, on the go journeys. We’re incredibly proud to be part launching this new format for Pret and look forward to serving the Warrington community.”
