Pret A Manger open first store in Spain

Pret A Manger have debuted in Spain. The brand, a UK-based coffee and sandwich chain, founded in 1986, has grown to over 650 stores across 16 markets – including the USA, France, Singapore, Germany and Hong Kong.

The new store in Spain, located at Barcelona Airport Terminal 2 (Landside) is being operated by Ibersol Group. The Spanish F&B operator, who manage Burger King, KFC and Pizza Hut franchises, in addition to some of their own restaurant brands, agreed a partnership with Pret A Manger in February 2023.

Ibersol Group have stated that they aim to open 70 Pret stores across both Portugal and Spain within the next 10 years. They have also stated they will prioritise major cities and key transport hubs – this approach is further demonstrated by their opening in Barcelona airport.

Pret A Manger entered the Italian market in Q3 this year whilst they debuted in Luxembourg in Q2.
