Paris Baguette, the bakery cafe brand, have entered a new market, with their first store opening in Malaysia. Located in Kuala Lumpur, the store is operated by Berjaya Food Berhad, an existing Starbucks franchisee.
There are plans for further store openings across Malaysia, both inside Kuala Lumpur and across other cities. This is the fifth country within Southeast Asia the brand operates in – after Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam.
The South Korean company that own Paris Baguette opened their first two stores in London across October and November – at Battersea Power Station and on Kensington High Street.
Across the globe, there are around 4,000 Paris Baguette stores. The vast majority of these are in South Korea (3,600), with China having the next largest volume of operating units (240).
