Hickory’s Smokehouse bought by Pub company Greene King

Pub company Greene King has bought for an undisclosed sum barbeque brand Hickory’s Smokehouse. The move comes following the exit of private firm Piper which invested £6m in 2014 in the brand. 

 

Greene King is planning to roll out the brand nationally and significantly expand the 17 restaurants estate Hickory’s is currently operating in the UK. Hickory’s founder Neil McDonnell and managing director John Welsh will stay in their current positions in the management team and the company HQ will remain in Chester.
