Chipotle Mexican Grill, the brand that stated at the start of 2023 that they were targeting over 250 new locations across the year, are continuing to roll out internationally.
With 15 stores in the UK, the British arm of the US brand is now looking at an opening in East Dulwich, London. We have previously shared news of another recent store opening in East Dulwich – Soderberg. This would follow the most recent Chipotle opening (UK store number 15), in Twickenham, which opened in April 2023.
In Canada, the brand opened their first store in Richmond, British Columbia. This site is one of 10 planned restaurants targeted across Canada this year – this would be a record number of sites opened across a year in the country.
Chipotle is one of the 8 companies that make up the investment trust ‘Pershing Square Capital Management’, managed by Bill Ackman. This fund has a history of investing within the F&B industry, with investments in Wendy’s and Restaurant Brands International.
