The Restaurant acquires chain Barburrito for £7M

Wagamama owner The Restaurant Group (TRG) has acquired Mexican chain Barburrito in a £7M deal.
The Group is planning to double the size of the business in the next four years by capitalising on customers strong interest for healthy, convenient food-chain as well as Barburrito strong financials. Indeed, the brand has reported same store sales growth up by 20% vs. 2019 with a profit before tax of £1.7M and currently operates 16 units across UK major cities.
TRG already owns several brands – among which Chiquito and Frankie & Benny’s – and the Barburrito business will be integrated into TRG’s leisure and concessions division.
