The bubble tea brand, Gong Cha, are set to enter Africa, having signed a master franchise agreement for Morocco.
Mad Vision Group, the franchise partner, already operate the bubble tea brand in Belgium, France and The Netherlands.
The brand has a presence in 22 countries, and have also signed a master franchise agreement with Shahia Foods Group to enter The Middle Eastern market.
The brand was founded in Taiwan in 1996 and expanded internationally in 2009, when they entered Hong Kong. The brand is now based in London – there are 13 stores in the UK (in London, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, Brighton and Newcastle).
Mad Vision Group are existing operators of O’Tacos, Chick&Cheez and Go Fish.
O’Tacos entered Italy in 2021.
Le Pain Quotidien have entered the Moroccan market, with the first store opening in Casablanca.
