The coffee chain, 5 to go, will open their first store in Slovakia in H1 2024. The Romanian brand is expected to debut in Bratislava, with aims of 50 sites in the country by 2028.
With 500 stores in Romania, the brand is aiming to reach 1,000 sites, both domestically (Romania) and internationally combined, by 2027. The biggest coffee chain in Romania is also present in Hungary, France, the UK and Belgium.
The Romanian hospitality industry has also seen expansions for other brands, including Burger King. The brand has opened three new stores, in the cities of Bucharest, Sibiu and Craiova, over October 2023. The new stores are operated by Rex Concepts CEE, a platform created by McWin. McWin own and operate the Burger King brand in the Czech Republic, Poland and Romania. Rex Concepts have also opened a new Burger King in the Czech Republic (located in Brno), in the last fortnight. Other industry growth examples include Sphera Franchise Group seeing 2022 sales rising by over 30% vs prior year (announced in Q1 2023).
McWin have recently acquired a majority stake in Big Mamma.
