Major restaurants partners – including itsu, Pizza Hut and Deliveroo – are asking the UK government to extend help to the hospitality industry which is still facing serious financial distress from the ongoing pandemic.
In total 330 brands – representing more than 1400 restaurants in the UK – have written jointly to the Prime Minister calling for further support. The current lockdown is indeed putting enormous pressure on the industry – especially the dine-in sector.
The signatories are asking for:
- extend VAT reduction (until end of 2021)
- extend business rate relief
- support testing and cavvincation in the food sector
- keep the furlough scheme
- help business with rent
