Wagamama have opened a new store in Rome, the brand’s second in the Italian capital. Having debuted in Italy in 2017, the newest store is located in the Stazione di Roma Termini.
Operated by Chef Express, in partnership with Percassi, the restaurant offers table service and take away, for both railway users and visitors (access to the restaurant can be both from inside and outside the station).
There are now 10 stores listed on Wagamamas Italy’s website, across 5 regions.
Earlier this year, Percassi partnered with All’Antico Vinaio to grow brand across Europe.
Wagamama is owned by The Restaurant Group (TRG). TRG have announced that their Chair, Ken Hanna, will be stepping down – this follows some challenges with shareholders and restaurant closures. Additionally, their recent interim results show half year revenue was up 10%. They have also confirmed they are in talks with Big Table Group to sell their leisure division – consisting of Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquito. A sale is thought to facilitate further expansion of Wagamamas.
