Popeyes are set to enter Italy, after Restaurant Brands Iberia signed a master franchise agreement to develop and grow the brand in Italy. The Popeyes brand is owned by Restaurant Brands International.

Popeyes has, in over 35 countries, over 4,300 restaurants. Across Europe, Popeyes are already present in France, Romania, Poland, The Czech Republic, The UK, Spain and Switzerland.
The first Popeyes in Italy is expected to open in 2024.
Restaurant Brands International have bought Carrols Restaurant Group. Purchased at $9.55 per share, totalling approximately $1bn, Restaurant Brands International will acquire all their restaurants: 60 Popeyes and 1,022 Burger Kings.
In January 2024, TDR Capital increased their shareholding in Popeyes UK & the brand have lined up 30 new stores.
