Restaurant Brands International have announced that Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, have debuted in the Czech market.
On 3rd November, the two-floor restaurant, located in Wenceslas Square, Prague, opened. In Q4 2022, McWin announced they were making additional investments in Central and Eastern Europe – New Master Franchise Agreements were signed for Burger King, in The Czech Republic, and for Popeyes Lousiana Kitchen, in The Czech Republic and Poland. Rex Concepts CEE, an operating platform created by McWin, are managing Popeyes expansion across the countries.
The new store is located near a KFC (both are present in Wenceslas Square); the Yum! brand will now have competition in the Czech Republic.
In Q3 2023, TDR Capital, a private equity firm, invested £50m into Popeyes UK, the UK branch of the Restaurant Brands International (RBI) chain.
Popeyes was founded in New Orleans in the 1970s. There are now over 4,200 restaurants internationally.
