The family friendly pizza brand, Happy Joe’s, founded in 1972, has opened its second store in Egypt.
In Q3 2021, Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream agreed terms with their new franchise operator H.J. Happy Joe’s for Restaurants L.L.C. The deal was designed to see the brand enter and develop across North Africa and the Middle East. The development plan consists of 25 stores over 10 years, in countries including Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E.
In September 2022, Dynamic Restaurant Holdings, the parent company of Happy Joe’s Pizza and Ice Cream (plus Tony Sacco’s) declared bankruptcy, although this had no impact on their international franchise partners.
In October 2022, Happy Joe’s debuted in Egypt – in the Cairo suburb of Roxy. The family friendly restaurant have now, last month, opened a second store in Sheikh Zayed Sodic strip mall in Egypt. There are plans for a third store to open in Egypt soon.
