The UK brand, Greggs, have opened their 2,500th store in the UK.
The new store is based in Cobham, Surrey – in a petrol station operated by Sainsbury’s.
In January 2024, Greggs shared their Q4 Trading Update. Key updates include:
- Financial year 2023 saw total sales at £1,809 million (up 19.6% from 2022 – £1,513 million)
- The company-managed shops saw like-for-like sales up 13.7%
- Greggs opened a company record 220 new shops across the year, closing out 2023 with 2,473 sites.
- Building on the existing Just Eat partnership, Greggs have now expanded the Uber Eats partnership to 710 shops, enhancing delivery opportunities nationally.
The brand are aiming to reach 3,000 sites by 2026. This will be through both franchise and equity owned stores – in December 2023 Greggs opened their 500th franchise store.
