Latin American flavored brand – Las Iguanas – is planning to open 30 new sites in the next three years. The company is part of the Big Table Group which also operates Banana Tree, Bella Italia and Café Rouge.
According to the development plan, a new 4,500 square feet site is to open soon in Peterborough followed by a 269-cover restaurant early next year and the company is “speaking with landlords in a number of towns and cities” looking for potential new sites.
On top of its development plan, Las Iguanas has also introduced service robots at 2 of its restaurants: Cambridge and Center Parcs Elveden Forest. The robots -which have been developed in partnership with Soft Bank Robotics – aim at freeing up time for the team members to interact with the customers by focusing on repetitive tasks such as delivering food to tables and returning dirty dishes to the kitchen.
