Often called one of London’s coolest bakeries, Jolene first opened in Newington Green in North London in 2018. Since then, it has grown to four locations across North and East London, including a well-established restaurant. Now, the bakery is expanding into Soho. On April 23, a new Jolene will open inside the Aries flagship store on Bridle Lane, which comprises 4,000 square feet over two floors. The café takes over from Dark Arts, which previously ran the shop’s coffee space. It will be open every day from 8am to 4pm.
The new branch will serve Jolene’s well-known pastries, like rhubarb, frangipane and almond Danishes, plus jalapeño and cream cheese buns. At lunchtime, there will also be a range of sandwiches, including bacon and leek tortilla with aioli and rocket, and braised fennel with goat’s cheese, pickled onions, dill and orange dressing. Coffee will be sourced from Square Mile, freshly ground every day. Alongside various independent guest coffee roasters, from across the UK.
