Hala Group has reported record sales for the year to 30 June 2025, although profits fell significantly as costs continued to rise. The business, one of the UK’s largest franchisees of Domino’s Pizza, increased turnover by 3.7% to £101.47m, up from £97.88m the previous year. Pre-tax profit, however, declined 59% to £909,696 from £2.22m, with administrative expenses climbing by around £2.5m to £21.62m.
The group operates approximately 70 Domino’s Pizza stores and has also been building a presence in the Pret A Manger franchise market through Hala Star Foods. Accounts show the company opened one further Pret location during the year, taking its total number of stores to seven. Net assets fell to £20.04m from £22.13m, a decline of 9.4%. Dividends paid during the year totalled £1.9m, compared with £1.62m in the prior period.
Director Ahmed Alani said: “The results reflect increased volume sales but higher overhead and finance costs following higher taxes and harsher economic conditions, resulting in lower profits. Gross profit margin was steady at 65.5% (2024: 64.3%). Trading conditions are expected to remain challenging for the foreseeable future, but the directors remain confident the business will continue to deliver profitable growth.”
