Wendy’s back in the UK after more than 20 years

The US quick-service restaurant chain Wendy’s has made its official comeback to the UK market with a first opening in Reading’s Friar Street on June 2.  The opening has been a success with long queues forming at the entrance of the restaurant.
The brand plans to open more than 400 units in the market and has appointed Paul Hidler – who has 25 years experience with Wendy’s – to oversee the return to the UK.
The company is initially planning to open 5 company-owned restaurants in 2021 and, in a second moment, to further develop through multi-unit franchisee operators.
