On the first day of inside trading (Monday, May 17), sales of Britain’s restaurants, pubs and bars were up by 25% vs. prior year. This is an encouraging result considering the CGA’s Market Recovery Monitor showed only about 33% of UK premises were able to trade in April before the indoor reopening last week.
It is hoped sales will keep growing in the coming weeks until complete reopening of the market on June 21.
