The latest trends in the UK hospitality industry

The latest market researches show how customers are still interested in “at-home” food solutions when restrictions lift as well as appreciate the increased level of digitalisation in the hospitality industry.

 

In a recent research from KAM Media, 60% of consumers want their favourite restaurants to continue or start selling cook-at-home meal boxes. People are so excited about being able to meet again and more social gathering are to be expected. Thus, most UK adults are planning to invite and meet with friends and family more often than before pandemic which translates in higher demands for at-home meal options. The research also shows evidence of customers’ interest for more specific offers such as at-home meal boxes for Saint Valentine or birthdays. 

 

Another report – prepared by Zonal and CGA – underlines how technology and digitalisation have improved hospitality industry and are positively perceived by customers. Among the several benefits expressed by consumers, there are not only safety but also speed and convenience, ease of ordering and tracking orders. The pandemic has definitely accelerated the already ongoing process of digitalisation the hospitality industry was experiencing and it has now become widely expected by consumers.
