Since opening the first Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen store in the UK, 1 year ago, the brand has rapidly expanded. Starting in Stratford, in East London, there are now 11 stores open across the UK – including Oxford, Chelmsford and Nottingham. The Stratford store is the best performing Popeyes restaurant outside of the USA.
There is a clear development plan being implemented, with a further 20 stores in the pipeline for next year. The expansion also includes a drive-thru and specific delivery kitchens, in locations across Glasgow, Liverpool and Cardiff.
Popeyes is one of the major fast-food restaurant chains in the United States, with the majority of stores in North America and the rest of the world being franchise owned. In 2021, a master franchise agreement for Popeyes, in the UK, was agreed and signed by Ring International Holding AG (RIH).
