Major restaurants´ brands call UK government for urgent help

Major restaurants partners – including itsu, Pizza Hut and Deliveroo – are asking the UK government to extend help to the   hospitality industry which is still facing serious financial distress from the ongoing pandemic. 

 

In total 330 brands – representing more than 1400  restaurants in the UK – have written jointly to the Prime Minister calling for further support. The current lockdown is indeed putting enormous pressure on the industry – especially the dine-in sector.

 

The signatories are asking for: 

  1. extend VAT reduction (until end of 2021)
  2. extend business rate relief
  3. support testing and cavvincation in the food sector
  4. keep the furlough scheme
  5. help business with rent
