Le Pain Quotidien to enter UK retail sector

Belgian boulangerie brand – Le Pain Quotidien – will soon start offering its baked products on UK supermarket shelves.
Le Pain Quotidien which already operates 15 bakeries across the UK (and more than 250 worldwide) has signed an agreement with Taster Shakers to manage and grow its grocery business in the UK. In the words of Le Pain Quotidien UK Managing Director, Frederic Lluch, “we’ve already developed a loyal following in our UK bakery-restaurants. Now we feel the time is right to capitalise on this, bringing our products to a wider audience”; to this aim, the brand will partner up with Taste Shakers, which is already collaborating with major UK chains and it focuses on bringing hospitality brands into the retail sector.
Other brands have recently made similar moves: in 2020, Costa Coffee and Pret A Manger have respectively launched packaged branded coffee and at-home products across the UK and Europe; similarly LEON in 2021 has started selling its  coffee at Sainsbury’s supermarkets in the UK.
