A survey carried out by the accountancy firm haysmacintyre shows how the hospitality sector remains optimist for the future despite the covid-19 economic impact on the industry.
The survey was conducted upon more than 140 operators with 83% of the hotel industry feeling confident, followed closely by restaurant at 53%. Most participants (69%) also believe business will go back to pre-pandemic level by the end of the year or at latest by mid-2022.
The survey’s main results are as follows:
– 75% of respondents plans to continue offering delivery and takeaway services even after the pandemic is over
– 78% of businesses will continue focusing on online sales (including DIY meal kits)
– New technologies – such as ordering and payment apps mostly implemented during the pandemic to promote social distancing – are to stay for 95% of participants
